[328] A Little Life Update – And Thank You 💛
Hey amigos y amigas, in today’s short episode I just wanted to check in with you and share a personal update. February and March were unexpectedly tough for me – I lost a close family member and needed to take some time off to rest and be with loved ones. In this episode, I talk about how this life event affected my goals for the year (yes, even my fun run and swimming lessons!) and why it’s okay if your year didn’t go exactly to plan. Thank you so much for your support – I’ve missed you, and I’ll be back with more English tips very soon. Hola amigos y amigas, you’re listening to the English Made Simple Podcast – this is episode number 328, number three hundred and twenty eight, número trescientos veintiocho. Hey everyone, it’s Milena here. Thanks so much for tuning in today. This episode is going to be a little different — just a short and personal update from me to you. So… February and March have been quite tough for me. Not something I expected at all. A close family member of mine passed away, and it really shook me. It was very sudden, and it left me feeling emotionally drained — I just wasn’t in the right headspace to sit down and record a new episode. And you know me — I like to keep things upbeat, a bit silly, and full of energy on the show. But during this time, I just needed to slow down and take a step back. So, I decided to take some time off. That phrase simply means taking a break from work or other responsibilities — usually to rest, recharge, or deal with something important in your personal life. That’s exactly what I’ve been doing — resting, reflecting, and spending time with family. And I wanted to say — I really appreciate your support. Your kind words, your messages, and even just your patience… it’s meant so much to me. Seriously, thank you. Now, I know at the start of the year — in episode 327 — we talked about setting goals for 2025 using the SMARTER method. If you listened to that episode, you might remember I had two goals for this year: one was to do a fun run… and the other was to learn how to swim properly. Well, amigos… those goals have taken a little break too! Life had other plans for me these past two months. But that’s okay. Sometimes goals have to shift when life happens — and that’s normal. The important thing is, I’m still planning to work towards them. Maybe a bit later than expected, but I’m not giving up. So if you’ve also had a slow start to the year — or if life has thrown you a curveball — you’re not alone. Be kind to yourself. We’re all doing the best we can, and that’s enough. If you haven’t already, go back and check out episode 327 — it’s called How to Set Goals for 2025 using the SMARTER Method In that episode, I share the easiest way to set goals using the SMARTER method — and you’ll even hear some real examples from my own life. Plus, I created a free Goal-setting Guide to go with it! You can grab it at: 👉 englishmadesimple.net/how-to-set-goals-for-2025 – englishmadesimple.net/goals2025 Alrighty amigos, I’ll be back very soon with new stories, tips to help with your English, and of course, some Aussie expressions too. Thank you again for being part of this amazing English Made Simple community. I’ve missed you! Take care of yourselves — and hasta la próxima.
