Cool bananas, now that that’s out of the way, let’s move on with today’s show.

In addition to preparing this Audiobook I had been busy with more packing and cleaning and organizing more stuff to come from Melbourne so as you can see, this is never ending.

Let me explain a bit on this.

I am in the middle of moving suburbs in Adelaide, also organising renovations as we bought an apartment and decided to settle down for another couple of years here in Adelaide. Yes, I know, who would’ve imagined last year that something like this would happen. That I was going to stay here a bit longer.

If you have been listening to the show for a while and you’ve probably heard me complain and moan about Adelaide – I used to live in the bustling Melbourne city – then I moved to this big country town with a population of 1 million people, magpie birds that attack and of course some snakes and sharks.

But anyway here we are! We are adapting! Haha My husband and I area adapting to our new surrounding in Adelaide.

And also, please be patient while I get myself settled in properly. We will be moving again soon so will release a couple of episodes a bit later. I record my episodes in real time meaning if you are listening to this episode in July of 2018, I have recorded the episode in July of 2018. That’s what I mean by real time.

Righto.

I have something to share with you amigos!

Some of you have answered a short survey that I emailed to some of you and also I posted a question inside the Facebook group asking what the number 1 problem is for some of you at the moment. Problem with English that is. Something that you are struggling with at the moment when it comes to English. I know these things will change, next month you might find that you will struggling with something else. In any case, I want to say this is normal. This is all part of evolving and learning.

There were a few comments that stood out – a couple of comments that were interesting to me… I am not going to mention any names on here but I just wanted to highlight what was mentioned.

So some of you were struggling with understanding different accents – interesting, being able to talk fluently, construct sentences that flow and make you sound fluent, some of you said pronunciation was an issue because of their work so they need to be understood when speaking over the phone, which was really interesting to me and this inspired me to create the Audiobook that will ease the pain maybe, hopefully (when speaking over the phone.)

Someone said that they are struggling with “technical English” for work, and I am curious to know what they meant by “technical English” – I am assuming maybe they mean a more specific vocabulary target at the industry that they are working in. Sometimes special industries use special terms or they use phrases that are commonly accepted within their circle of peers. For example, if you work as an accountant, you might be using words like Accounts Payable or Profit and Loss statement and so on. You wouldn’t necessarily use these words with friends just with your colleagues.

Ok so I assume that’s what is meant by “technical English” – correct me if I am wrong!

Some other interesting things you guys also said, that you feel tired, anxious and exhausted to think which words to say, what phrases to use when speaking with native speakers, you are self-conscious when speaking, the native speakers are not able to understand you so you become even more anxious and tongue tied.

Alright, this concludes today’s episode.

I just wanted to share some news with you guys, tell you what’s been happening, why I am releasing the episodes a bit later than usual.
There was something else I wanted to say… I did mention that I was going to change the Podcast logo, and I decided at the last minute to not change it drastically. I only enlarged the Text size and kept the colours the same. So there we go, you probably didn’t even notice that, ha!

Alrighty amigos y amigas. Don’t forget to download the Audiobook that will help you sound Clear and Confident when speaking over the phone. I share 5 simple, easy-to-say and easy to remember phrases when you are on the phone. Of course, there are many other phrases you should know. But this is a start.

Simply go to www.englishmadesimple.net/phone (do I have to spell this word….really? haha)

I really want to know your feedback, share your comments with me, tell me if this Audiobook is useful to you, is it helpful, is the content good, is it missing something, do you need to learn more phrases, did you understand everything in the Audiobook? Please share your feedback with me amigos y amigas. I really want to hear it.

Thanks for joining me yet again! You’ve been an amazing and patient audience. You’ve been jamming with Milenita, have a great rest of the week – until next time, hasta la proxima!
