Thank you everyone for joining me today.
Hope you enjoyed those Dad jokes I shared with you in the last episode.
Did you have a favourite one from that episode?
My one was the one about the politicians. The last joke.
It’s so relevant right now as we have elections coming up in Australia… well this weekend. If you’re listening to this episode on 18th May 2022.
It will be my first time to vote in Australia. I’ve only recently become an Australian citizen. I was a New Zealand citizen before, actually I still am. I have two passports.
Anyway, it’s mandatory to vote in Australia. So it’s my first time voting. If you don’t vote you get fined $70 or something.
Going back to the joke I liked… the one about the politicians… It’s so true. And that’s what makes it funny. Right?
If you’re new to the show, you might want to go back to the last episode, episode number 291, have a listen to all of the jokes and pay special attention to the last one I shared in that episode.
Hope you enjoy it and I hope you find it funny too!
Righto…
So today…
I’d like to introduce you to a phrase that is very common to hear with English speakers. You might hear people use it in your workplace, people from English-speaking countries.
You’ll also have a chance to “repeat it after me”. Keep listening to the end of the episode for your chance to say the phrase aloud.
The phrase is: Keep up the good work.
I’ve selected this particular phrase because the majority of people who completed the recent Listener survey said they needed to learn English for work. So I’ll be sharing more phrases to help you with that.
