Hey amigos y amigas, you are listening to the English Made Simple show this is episode 2-2-2, number two hundred and twenty two, numero doscientos veintidos.

Welcome amigos y amigas, boys and girls – Welcome to today’s episode of the English Made Simple show, my name is Milena and this is episode number 2-2-2, and in today’s episode I want to teach you about starting conversations in English. Yes, I am still on about this.

CONVERSATIONS.

Such a long word to spell. It’s a nightmare to spell.

That’s why I like to write CONVO for short.

C-O-N-V-O

And if you go to www.englishmadesimple.net/convo you might discover something in there. It’s an audio book about How to Simplify A Conversation that I prepared just for you to help you start conversations wherever you go.

If you are new to the show, please go to episode 221 where I talk about this audio book in more detail.

Oki doki.

So back to today’s episode.

I gotta say something. I’ve realised my husband and I very different.

I like to make small talk with strangers and he doesn’t.

When I go to the supermarket, I always have to have the last word. Like for example, when I get asked: Would you like a receipt? I’d say, nah you keep it. It’s for you.

I’m like Nicholas Cage in that movie Con Air. He always has to say something smart at the end of a scene. Like that famous line: Put the bunny back in the box.

So random.

But he has to be the last one to say something.

Well, that’s me.

So when we go shopping, my husband and I – he lets me talk to the sales person, because he knows what I am like and he will look around for something else to do.

I think I get too excited when I am out of the house, I just gotta engage in some kind of a conversation.

And you guys, all of you who are listening, and you might be thinking it’s hard to speak in English – imagine one day this will be you. As soon as you feel confident speaking in English it will be hard to stop talking.

You’ll be just like me and Nicholas Cage haha

Now let’s get straight into today’s show amigos y amigas. Enough of this gibberish.

What are some of the best ways you can engage in a conversation with someone, someone like a stranger for example…

I’ll share my 3 tips with you right now.
