Today we’ll continue with our Short Chats segment. Today’s episode is not going to include my imaginary friend Ana and her escapades, but it’s going to include me!

Yes, I’ll be using myself as an example in today’s episode. It will still be a part of the Short Chat repertoire, and you’ll still get a chance to practice a few phrases with me at the end of the show.

Today, we talk about travelling. Because I forgot how to TRAVEL! I recently visited Melbourne… twice in the span of eight weeks.

If you’re listening to this show in March 2021, then you’ll know that we’re not able to travel around the world…. Because of Covid. It’s going to be one year now since the day they announced that all of the international travel has been suspended. A lot of people missed out, they can’t visit their families overseas, yes it’s been a sad and depressing 12 months. Well we’re still in that time, unable to travel overseas.

Oh and I am still waiting for my refund. I was supposed to travel to South America with my husband about this time last year. Then the Australian government said, “Uhm, Nope – you can’t travel anywhere, so we were stuck here in Australia. We requested for a refund last year in August, and we’re still waiting for it. Crazy times.

Anyway, that’s a story for another time.

So back to travelling. Going to talk about domestic travel (not international!)

Well, the good news is that Australia managed to get COVID under control. It did involve a lot of shutting down of state borders, locking people down in their own homes and so on. It looks like it’s under control. Coronavirus are under control. Let’s wait and see. You can never tell with coronavirus, it just pops up and surprises you…

As you know I live in a city called Adelaide in Australia, it’s only one hour from Melbourne flying. And eight hours driving, if you want to drive. It’s gonna take you hours to drive from Adelaide to Melbourne.
