Transcript Snapshot (Making Dinner Reservations)

Hey guys, you’re listening to the English Made Simple Show this is episode number 268, number two hundred and sixty-eight, numero dos cientos sesenta y ocho.

Hey amigos. My name is Milena and you can find me at www.englishmadesimple.net. You can find a whole lot of episodes of the show when you visit EnglishMadeSimple.net.

I hope you enjoyed the last episode about the year of the Ox. Hope you learnt something new in there.

Let me ask you this… how many of you went online and Googled ‘Year of the Ox’?

Did you look up what it means?

I do this every year. At the start of the year. Look at Zodiac signs and read the Chinese horoscope.

Anyway, let’s get cracking with today’s show.

Today we’ll be learning how to make dinner reservations.

More specifically make dinner reservations before UberEats time.

Isn’t it what most people do nowadays? Use their phones to order food? All you’d have to do is look at food pics. Pictures of food.

Well if you’re old fashioned like me, you’ll be phoning in the restaurant to make dinner reservations.

And if you had to make reservations in English then you’ll benefit from hearing toady’s episode.

Today I’ve got two imaginary friends: Tracy and Ana to entertain us in today’s Short Chats segment.

Ana is back, she is a bit lazy to cook, you know.

In fact she only knows how to boil eggs so as you can imagine, she’ll often eat out. In other words, eat at restaurants.

So if you’re not a great cook, you might find today’s episode helpful as well.

Guys, just a reminder that the following is a made-up scenario, I invented this short story. Ana and Tracy are my imaginary friends, but Ana is my best imaginary friend. She always makes an appearance.

After this short chat, I will read out a couple of sentences that you can then repeat after me.
